What began as a small produce market providing only fruits and vegetables in the Talbot Commerce Park of Easton, Maryland, has flourished into a full line food service company due to high demand in the surrounding area. Chefs from this geographical area flock to Teddy Bear Fresh year-round to pick up or have produce and other food amenities delivered at their convenience. Teddy Bear Fresh provides an assortment of goods such as fresh produce, dairy, frozen meats, condiments and cooking oils to restaurants, convenient stores, educational systems, correctional institutes and other consumers in the food industry.

History

The Salins family ancestors started with growing strawberries in New Jersey during the 1800s. Presently, the Salins roots in the produce arena continues and spans 5 generations. The Salins began wholesaling produce in the Florida Avenue markets in Washington, D.C. back in the 60s. This is where the original Teddy Bear logo originated. In 2009, Teddy Bear Fresh was founded by Mary Salins as a small, walk in produce market. After a demanding presence of local chefs and other local companies wanting quality produce at a reasonable price, the company expanded to delivering to restaurants and other business in the area. The company supplies not only fresh produce that comes in direct from farms but also dairy, oils, and frozen products and other non-perishable items. Today it continues to be a family oriented and driven business dedicated to providing fresh product to both the public and business on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
